long project
Well, I can not believe it is past midterm time already. This semester is flying by. I realized, however, that in one of my studio classes we are still working on the same project since the start of the school year. I have really grown to enjoy this project. The idea of the project was to make an inhabitable space from an object. I chose a sunflower because I like organic objects better than hand-made. Through the process of this project I am finally realizing where inspiration comes from. Who would have thought that I could make a house from the inspiration of a sunflower. Now, when walking across campus I look at the buildings and wonder why the architects designed them that way. What was their inspiration? This project made us dive out of our comfort zone. It basically was like a leap of faith. At some points I did not know if I was going to be able to produce anything, but as I persisted something finally came. Each step took about two weeks to complete. However, looking back, it is the process of which I went through that has aided my growth as a designer. It was not my end result. But how I got to it. I learned the most through my struggles. The struggle of letting go of something when I grew too attached, or challenging myself to really push my ideas to the to their fullest extent.

Hey I am Nikki
Hey all, I am Nikki from New York. I am curently a sophomore in the Interior Design program in VPA. After my first semester at Syracuse I knew that this university was the right fit for me. There were many reasons why I chose Syracuse. First, for its Top Art Program. Our Design program is curently in the top ten of the country. I also chose Syracuse because of the student population. The size of the campus population fit perfectly. Lastly, I chose Syracuse because of the athletics. I enjoy going to athletic events on campus and I am curently an athlete on the softball varsity team for the University as well. So that is who I am and you will be hearing more about me later on.
